West Hills, California
Sleep Apnea and TMJ Dental Group is located in West Hills, inside the Community Medical Center at 23101 Sherman Pl, Suite 415. The practice is limited to orofacial pain, temporomandibular disorders, and dental sleep medicine — it is not a general dental office, and care is provided by Dr. Mohammad Masudian, DDS, MPH, Diplomate, American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, who completed a CODA-accredited certificate program in orofacial pain at the University of Southern California.
What a Specialist Evaluation Involves
Facial pain and jaw dysfunction are frequently misattributed to the teeth, sinuses, or ears, which is why a structured diagnostic evaluation matters more than any single treatment. A first appointment is diagnostic rather than procedural, and typically includes:
History and Pain Characterisation
Onset, location, quality, duration, and triggers of the pain, alongside sleep history, headache pattern, prior dental work, and current medications.
Clinical Examination
Assessment of mandibular range of motion, joint sounds, muscle palpation, cranial nerve screening, and dental occlusion.
Review of Existing Records
Prior imaging, sleep studies, CPAP compliance data, and specialist reports are reviewed rather than duplicated where they are already available.
Diagnosis is made against validated criteria, and findings are documented and returned to your referring physician or dentist when a referral was involved.
